Caño Island National Park is the most exciting and beautiful place of the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica for scuba diving and snorkeling. It offers five dive sites some with rock pinnacles and arches. The island also has a trail to a nice lookout with an awesome view of the island. During the boat ride to the island (60 min), you will be able to see a great variety of marine life dolphins, turtles, and Humpback whales (from July to October). At least two different spots are sightseen for snorkeling with an experienced guide.

Leaving from Sierpe (1hr. driving south from Uvita)
The boat will pass through the mangrove channels toward the ocean, beautiful spot to see wildlife; macaws, monkeys, and crocodiles among others.
Requirement: Must know how to swim.
Price: From Sierpe: $100.
COVID regulations: visitor are not allowed to stay at the beach, either use the trails, only snorkel/dive from the boat as usual, there is alternative beach for lunch and facilities.

The boat leaves from Sierpe at 8:00 am, from there the boat passes through the channels of the mangrove to reach the sea and the island, lasts approximately 45 minutes. The guide chooses two places to snorkel from the boat, , it may lasts 45 minutes in each place depending on the weather conditions.
If the group agrees, you can go down on the island to go to the lookout and enjoy the beautiful view.
After the snorkeling the boat is heading to a nearby beach to serve you picnic lunch and the option to use the bathroom if it is needed. Later it returns to Sierpe arriving approximately at 4 in the afternoon
