Drake Bay lies in the northern end of the Osa Peninsula and is one of the most remote places in Costa Rica. It can only be accessed by boat during the rainy season. Drake Bay is a well known gateway to Corcovado National Park and many activities and tours: scuba diving and snorkeling in Caño Island, one-day tours to Sirena Biological Station, horseback tours, rainforest and waterfall hikes, kayaking, and sport fishing. This is the best route for those who do not have a lot of time or cannot hike long distances.
This little town has a great variety of accommodations for all tastes and budgets. Due to its remoteness, many lodges and hotels offer all inclusive packages with 3 daily meals, and most of them use solar panel generators. Keep in mind that communication systems may not work properly in this distant area.
