2. Night Tour in Drake Bay: A very nice, American-Costa Rican couple will transport you to a realm where reality rivals science fiction. Tracie, an American entomologist who has lived in Drake Bay for over 15 years, and her husband Gianfranco, a naturalist guide and nature photographer, will disclose amazing information about spiders, toxic toads, cockroaches. They will cover a wealth of topics: insect, spider, and frog mating practices; insect weaponry, insects in medicine.
In addition, there is a great chance of encountering mammals such as kinkajous, striped hog-nosed skunks, Northern raccoons, three-toed sloths, anteaters, opossums, and a variety of bats. If you are very lucky, you might see one of Costa Rica’s wild cats. They see several ocelots during this tour each year.

3. A Night in the Jungle: Spend the night in a jungle camp nestled in the rainforest of Hacienda Barú Wildlife Refuge. After the hike up to the camp, you will be able to enjoy the sunset and nature sounds from the camp’s veranda. After a traditional Costa Rican dinner, you go out on a night hike to search for nocturnal creatures. You spend the night at a tent camp equipped with a shower and a toilet. The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, on your hike back to the starting point, you will have a chance to see some magnificent old rainforest trees.
