Ultralight Tour

Don’t miss this thrilling adventure! There are several options: If this is the first time you fly in an ultralight aircraft and are a little concerned, you may take a short 20-minute flight around Ballena Bay so that you get used to the new and enjoyable emotions.

There is also a 30-minute flight over Ballena Marine National Park. You will feast on the scenic beauty of the park: beaches, estuaries, mangroves, rocky reef, islets and the famous Whale’s Tale. The 45-minute flight visits the National Park and the mangrove forest south of the park. The mangrove is a rich ecosystem with many unexplored sites, which can only be seen thoroughly from the air.

You may also choose a Special Tour (minimum 1 hr). You design your own flight to any of the following destinations: Osa Peninsula (including attractive destinations such as Drake Bay, Corcovado National Park and the Golfo Dulce); along the Central Pacific coastline (Manuel Antonio National Park, Herradura Bay, Carara Biological Reserve, Grande de Tárcoles River); and the ultralight stations in Tambor and Sámara.

Canyoning

Highlights: Six waterfalls to descend and pristine swimming holes.

Description: Canyoning or canyoneering is a vertical sport that involves descending a series of waterfalls using techniques like rappelling, jumping, sliding, and boulder scrambling. Our canyon involves mostly rappelling. We have 6 waterfalls varying in height, in succession from smallest (15 feet high) to biggest (75 feet high) allowing the guest to become comfortable with rappelling.

All our techniques are demonstrated by professional qualified guides with over 10 years of international canyon guiding experience, certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR.

Tubing and floating tour

Description: Tubing and floating in Baru River is a great tour for all ages and for all those who love nature and adventure. There are small and fun rapids. Each person will have their own individual tube, and there is a bigger inflatable for those who like to do the descent with the guide. There is a stop along the river for a picnic.

Nocturnal Hikes

Highlights: Amazing insects, snakes, lizards, frogs, mammals (opossums, raccoons, kinkajous, anteaters, bats, sloths)

1. Nocturnal Hike: A great opportunity to explore night life in the jungle of Rancho La Merced Wildlife Refuge.

2. A Night in the Jungle: Spend the night in a jungle camp nestled in the rainforest of Hacienda Barú Wildlife Refuge. After the hike up to the camp, you will be able to enjoy the sunset and nature sounds from the camp’s veranda. After a traditional Costa Rican dinner, you go out on a night hike to search for nocturnal creatures. You spend the night at a tent camp equipped with a shower and a toilet. The next morning, after a delicious breakfast, on your hike back to the starting point, you will have a chance to see some magnificent old rainforest trees.

Sierpe Mangrove Boat Tour

Highlights: Wading birds, scarlet macaws, three species of monkeys, crocodiles, tree boa, fruit bats.

Description: This tour is ideal for people of all ages and for nature lovers. A comfortable boat immerse visitors in a wildlife haven. While cruising channels and waterways, visitors can spot a great variety of birds (toucans, parrots, herons, egrets, jacanas), white-faced capuchin monkeys, squirrel and howler monkeys, snakes, crocodiles, and fruit bats. Don’t forget to bring your camera!!!

Crocodile Night Tour

Highlights: American crocodile, bats, opossums, sloths, owls, snakes, raccoons, frogs.

Description: 1. There is one tour in the mangrove swamps of the Terraba River. The Terraba River is the longest river of Costa Rica and carries the largest volume of water in the country. Also, the river mouth has the largest area of mangroves in the country. A naturalist guide will tell you all about the animals, birds, reptiles, plants and trees sheltered in this rich environment.

Highlights: Jungle and mountain trails, spectacular views, rivers and streams, and exotic wildlife.
Description: Guided by an expert in ATV adventures, you will cruise through streams, rivers, mountains, and valleys enjoying amazing views of waterfalls, ocean and jungle and exuberant wildlife and vegetation. You can choose among different tours. There is a tour to the Boruca indigenous village and an overnight tour in San Vito. Don’t miss the excitement, incredible views and places, and the refreshing, well-deserved swims in waterfalls and swimming holes.

Tree Climb

Highlights: Climb 117 feet and explore the rainforest canopy
Description: Using specialized equipment, which includes harness and ascenders, you scale a 117-foot long rope that is fixed in the upper branches of a rainforest tree.

Canopy Tour

Highlights: Chance to see a great variety of birds and learn about the forest. Howler monkeys, iguanas, sloths.
Description: Canopy tours are offered in three different locations.

1. There is a zip-line tour in a Wildlife Refuge near Dominical. Two naturalist guides (one of them English speaking) take you to an exciting ride on eight separate cables.

White Water Rafting
